100 Bags of Milk
— The Student Section

The daily life goes on. No matter what.
Despite the growing layers of pollution,
the overwhelming population - as 1 of 5 in Lebanon is a refugee by today -,
expensive education systems,
a continuous political vacuum,
a solid fragility,
suffocation is a lurking hunter.

Blink, watch out, hide and see through.
Continuing the lightness of being.

The Student Section of Lebanon features works by students realised at the Lebanese American University,
the American University of Beirut and the Université de Balamand - Académie libanaise des beaux-arts.

The Student Section is the second main component of the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space. The Section is handled by the country (or region) national curator, in charge of the organisation, the finance and the artistic supervision of the exhibition. The country application to the section is not subject to curatorial review by the Prague Quadrennial artistic director ; entries are accepted and the exhibitions are competitive and eligible for the PQ Awards. Be it an installation, a performance space or an exhibition, the Student Section features "the best" of scenography works that have been created in the country by students during the previous years as well as work methodologies from schools. Music, Weather and Politics were the PQ2015 themes to be explored in connection to contemporary theatre and scenography. PQ2015 Section of Countries and Regions presented works from 52 countries and the exhibitions were especially conceived for the exhibition venue with which they were in dialogue. The section will take place in Kafka´s House, Bethlehem Chapel - Lapidarium and in Gallery at Bethlehem Chapel, both walking distance from each other. Moreover, student performances where programmed in SpaceLab, the educational platform of PQ2015.
